Hi everyone! I have a 1990 300zx 2+2 N/A Recently I was driving to get it registered and It randomly shut off on me :wtf2: . I'm very conserned not knowing if its an expensive sophisticated fix or an easy cheap one?
I have a youtube video here that shows this incident happening. Check it out...
I'm not sure if this is because I havent installed my airfilter yet, should be arriving in a couple of days...

Also near the end of the video i restart the car and it takes a couple of seconds to turn on, is that normal?
Thanks any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

You have too much airflow for what the MAF can read/handle for the ecu. This is a generic easy explanation as to what is happening. Do not drive with no filter on the car, debris could damage the MAF and cause issues for the engine.

This is basically the same issue, but now you have nothing slowing the airflow or stopping particles from going into the engine.

Another issues could be fuel pressure issue, fuel pressure regulator issue, fuel filter. Best thing you can do is check for ECU codes straight from the ECU, don't rely on the check engine light.
