1990 240SX with sr20det still smokes!!!!!!

i rebuilt the head and block ... new valve seals new bottom end... doesnt smoke at idle anymore just when i lay into her and let off??? it likes to backfire also??? any ideas, oh get this when i had my exhaust off it didnt let out a bit of smoke then i put my exhaust on and it smokes now at full throttle and when i let off...

run it a while. Sometimes there's oil residue left in piping or the engine that just needs to burn off.

what color is the smoke btw?

running rich? what color smoke? smells like what?

if its black, its running rich, blue is oil.

check your oil return line on the bottom of the turbo to make sure it's not pinched causing too much pressure for the little oil seals in that turbo.
