Hi guys I was wondering why my 240 won't start, its a 90' k24 e. I was driving and my harness that goes over the fan shroud got cought in the fan and basicaly got shreded. Long story short I got a new harness from another five speed and completely rewiredIt. I change the distributor, coil and still I'm not getting a spark.I checked all the fuses and replaced them and nothing! I'm thinking it might be the timing, can anyone shed light on this matter???

Do you know for sure if you got a KA24E harness versus a KA24DE harness?

Have you confirmed spark? fuel? compression?

Maybe I should move this over to the KA engine sub-forum?

My engine is the single cam 2.4, and the harness I took out of another exact sama 2.4 single cam 5 speed. I honestly don't know what's wrong with it

Well to be honest at the time when the harness was caught in the fan I didn't know and I kepp on trying to turn it on like a dumb a$$, I popped the hood and then I saw the part of the harness that goes over the fan shroud was tangled in between the fan...so I replaced thw whole harness, distributor and coil and yet still no spark so I was thinking the timing got messed up when I was trying to turn it on repeatedly when the harness was caught

take a look at your wire connectors on that harness...see if 2 are the same, then swap them, I had a similar problem with a 95 altima, we swapped out a bad motor and when we hooked up the harness and ended up swaping the coil connector with somethin else....

no spark, fuel delivery and components are good, compression is good other wise it would not have been running before the harness got destroyed. i did insert the rotor back into the distributor. replaced the coilc twice just to make sure. and all wires are good and plugs from the harness are all plugged in cuz i triple checked. my friend says it might be the computer burned out.

are you getting 12v to the coil?, and have you checked your ignition relays/fuses? those could short out...and can you pull codes off the ecu?

Verify that all the fuses are good. This one is going to take time. Whenever you shread a wire harness like you did things go bad that you would not think of.

Just changeing the harness will not fix everything.

Just take one system at a time and work through it.

Your FSM is now your best friend.
