ok..it takes like 15 seconds to fire over but feels extremely rough and it backfires than dies. You have to give it gas and force it to idle at like 3000 rpm to even stay running(rather poorly at that ). The guy I bought it off of said that the car was fine until he noticed that the distributor was wiggling around a bit. He took it to a tech and he said that it was of by a full 10deg. at full adjustment. Any Ideas? Maybe need a new distributor?

Maybe you should try resetting the base timing your self....do you know how to do this?

Theres a write up on this site somewhere. If that doesn't work then i guess buy a new distributor.

well I cheched the base timing and it is ead on. Checked the distributor and it seams to be that the rotor has some free play in it. Probably why the timing is so weird. I would imagine that this would cause some interesting affects with the advance and retard of the timing. ohh and the rotor seems to have taken a chunk out of one of the points. So I think I may have found the prob.???

anyone know where I can find a cheap distributor????????
