I am about to change the thermostat but I heard there is a water temp wire or sensor that could be bad.

Where do I look?

I have copied this to technical. I think this is the wrong forum.

I wouldn't say 5-10 but maybe 4-5. But, I do live in Florida so that might make a small difference.

10mins to warm up is kinda long. I would replace the thermostat... It might be stuck open.

Mine takes about that much time, but then again, it is cold out and stuff.

Depends what you mean by warm up. If you let it sit in the driveway it will take longer than regular driving. 5 minutes sound about right. I you get up to temp and quicker I would look into a blown headgasket. In my turboed 240 usually the first couple boosts, I'm into normal operating temp.

about the same for me (3-5) mins to reach normal temp. But today I noticed it felt sluggish in first and second, which doesn't happen too often. Usually it has enough oomph to pull hard in those gears( only for us lucky 240 owners) I think the fact that it was early and very cold contributed to it's sluggishness. I never leave my house before 9:00am, but today I did. When I usually leave at around 10am-11am it's no problem. So what does this all tell me.....NEVER leave my warm and cozy bed until at least 10am.
