1990 240sx tach doesn't work

When I got this car it has a km/h cluster with a tach that doesn't work. When we got the car the guy said it sometimes works. We recently replaces the cluster with a USDM one and the tach doesn't work still. Any ideas?

Issue may be at the source. Check your cable and see if it's connected properly to send the readout to tach.
