1990 240sx swap
Ok, I had my father convince me it was a good idea to do this swap, or sell the car cause with 130, 000 miles on it it will eventually die and i will have to look for another car. Good thing is we live right next to the Dominican Republic and they get all the cars we dont. Puerto Rico to DOM REP. is like a 30 min plane ride. So anyways i have 3,500 bucks and my mind is on an sr20. I know things get talked about and i can use the search button but it would take forever to search through all. I just need to know when i get over there what i will need to buy to make this swap happen. I have a 1990. is there things i have to worry about? what will make it simple? I am really going to get this motor all i needed was my dads word(hes a mechanic). your guys help would be appreciated.
Heavy Throttle's website, which is in the left hand column, has an "install FAQ", with a list of basic Q & A. There is a "what is needed?" section. Write it down, and memorize this list.

Sometimes engines that are missing things like the ECU or with a cut harness are offered at a discount from Heavy Throttle or other vendors. Be aware that some parts are easier to find than others. Currently main engine harnesses are difficult to find. ECU, MAF, CAS, Ignitor Chip - these things are relatively easy to find."

my SR20det dropped right into my 1990 240 without problems...just make sure you have those PS lines otherwise your arms will be getting a good work out (im still trying to hunt down PS lines from a 91 and up 240) other than that it purs like a kitten...make sure to get a FRONT CLIP otherwise YOU WILL be missing parts (and yes you WILL need those parts)
