1990 240sx starter problem

I have a 1990 240sx base model sohc; manual trans,the starter sometimes click yet if i keep tring to start the car, for about 4 or 5 trys the car will start and runs find.Is this mean the starter is going one soon?Do i need to check the wires?also there is two brand names for this starter at kragen,does it matter?
