I finally got my 1990 240SX Coupe and I've been driving it for about a week or two and it's started up great and ran strong and fast for about 200 miles. Today I drove a few miles to an auto supplies store and got some spark plugs and an air filter but when I tried to start it up again it didn't turn over there was no sound. It's a stick shift so eventually I got my dad to drive it and I pushed it back and it started right up. It's not the battery or anything. When we got home we tried to start it up again and it didn't work. I believe it's the starter. Is there any tips or remedies that could be tried before I go to buy a new starter? Thank you in advance.

Next time that happens pull the starter fuse out of the fuse box and put it back in. Everything seems like you are having a similar issue I had a few years ago. In that case my starter kept going out but would start right back up after I pulled and replaced the starter fuse.

A family mechanic, told me that the starter kept "Jumping the bench." All in all we had the starter replaced and have not had the problem since.
