I bought a cat back exhaust from ebay. Little did I realize that it was for the SR20DET motor and not the KA24E that I currently posess and probably will for a long time . At least until I can convince my wife that I need the SR20 . My question is this: Will the cat back exhaust fit on the stock KA24E. It has 3" piping and a 4.5" tip. Is there any mods needed to put this together to get the stock pipes to match up?

Get that old KA24E out and do the SR thing; you'll be glad you did.

You can make up an adapter plate out of 1/4" flat stock; cut a round hole the size of the CAT outlet; drill 4 holes - 2 to match the CAT and 2 to match the CAT-back pipe flange.

The large 3" piping will lower the low speed torque of the motor.

Well, I cant figure out how to load the pictures but, The exhaust fit fine. The 3" pipe was a direct fit to the stock cat. As for the low speed torque loss, if there is any it is very minimal. I cant notice it. No adapter plate was needed. And I will be getting the SR20 black top soon enough. Thanks a lot and if you could tell this computer challenged person how to load the pictures that would be awesome.
