Car: Planning on buying a s13 Coupe

Post

Im planning on buying a gray s13 coupe. Its got the pignose front bumper. Rolling on black stocks. Its an automatic. Im not sure yet wether its got the ka24e or ka24de. Hope it has the double cam. Hes asking 1000 for it. Ive only seen exterior pictures so far.

So far i cant make a decision. My plan wih it would be to first of all put some teardrop rims on it atleast. Then move to the 5 speed swap. Im not sure of all the things i would need. Someone help me with that and and sites where i can find em cheap. After that just Basically a CAI. Custom 2.5" test pipes, with buddy club muffler. After time maybe some Megan Racing Coilovers. And a used 1.5 way LSD.Im on a budget here, so bare with me.

What do you guys thing i should do?

for the swap you will need a 5 speed trans (duh), flywheel, clutch slave cylinder and line, clutch pedal, you will need to do some wiring to cancel the park lock out and some other wiring nothing big. actually if you can i would suggest getting the #10 issue of project car magazine they have a whole write up in depth on how to change it over from auto plus pricing. go to projectcarmag.com to find where you can get the issue it will be like five bucks but could save you a bunch. i got my knowledge of how to swap them from the mag. good luck

A 90 model comes with the KA24E(SOHC) so if you want a KA24DE(DOHC) you can buy one used for fairly cheap and drop it in, also if you do that you could go ahead and get a KA24DE with a manual transmission still attached. as far as the parts you would need for a 5 speed swap well heres a run down of the list, 5 speed transmission, transmission crossmember, 5 Speed driveshaft, clutch master cyclinder, clutch slave cyclinder, clutch lines, shifter, and clutch pedal assembly. there is a write up on how to do the 5 speed swap in the tech articles. so at the top of the page go to tech pages and to 240 tech.

Ok thanks for the list man. do i have to get a manual transmission ECU?

And yea well i did have that project car issue were they do the 5 speed swap on the white s13 and take it drifting. But unfortunately my sister decided to be a smarta** and threw it away. So ill try finding another one. But yea thanks for the info
