1990 240sx project? motor?

i kno i kno!this has prob. been discussed a million times on here but i searched and couldnt find any good answers.. A guy i work with at the fire station has a 240sx that hes wanting to sell and ive always wanted to build a drift car... ive mainly been building hondas for about 6 years, messed with a few evos, sti's etc but im wantin to build a budget drift car.. im wondering what are my options for motors, what suspension do u guys recommend? etc just kinda curious about everything. ive never really messed with any 240s other then our old shop car was a RHD 180 that i just drove.. im wanting about 300+ hp... any info or links would be greatly appreciated

the stock motor will do 300 if executed correctly. a dual cam swap will yield the same results with a little less torque. any swap will reach that power goal. just about any entry level suspension companies offer products that will suit you just fine as a novice drifter. the jury is still out on some of them, but that's mostly due to people raving certain products and bashing others without any real evidence on the quality/capabilities. rummage through here, the engine specific forums, the suspension forums, and the drifting forums. everything you need to know, and some crap you don't need to know, is here in nico. good luck with your project.

thanks. i just called my cousin whose into nissans and he told me i should do a 2JZGTE swap.. sounds like something i might do.. the guy who i might buy the car from says theres some things wrong with the motor so he will be practically giving it away...(still not sure on the price) i havent seen it yet..i just want a fairly decent DD yet i can still have fun on the weekends... my truck gettin 12mpg is not doin any justice right now and my honda that was getting 30mpg is now a full drag car lol
