When i bought my car it had no stereo in it and a cut up harness. When i put in a battery to start up the car the batt line in the stereo harness shorted out, When this happened the tail lights, dash lights, climate control lights and stereo quit working. I looked through the fuses and there was one blown fuse. After replacing that fuse the Stereo started working. I searched the forums and checked out the TCU. There are no burned traces or anything wrong with it. Any guesses what to check? No burned out fuses, Fusable links seem fine.

Another Problem- When I go to drive the car i need to pump the brakes to get them to let me drive normally.(acts as if brake is pressed down and slowly goes into gear). once i pump the brakes a few times, driving is normal. Do i just need to bleed the brake system since it was sitting for over 3 years? It has ABS.Thanks in advance - Paul

As to the brakes staying locked up, the master cylinder may be bad holding the hydraulic pressure or one or more caliper pistons/slider pins may be seized.

Not knowing wat exactly shorted out or what kinda hack job has been done to the wiring its hard to figure out which direction to send you in. First step would be to use a test light and check all the fuses both under the dash and under the hood. Check both side of every fuse with the key in the on position and the parking lights turned on. You should have power on both sides of every fuse that has power. You should see no more then 3 fuses that have no power at all.

im having a similar problem with my lights for my 93 240sx. i disconnected the headlight relay fusible link when the battery was still connected and now the left signal light won't turn on(except for when im signalling, then it would turn on). something is also wrong with the tail lights. the center piece and the yellow part of the tail lights won't turn on either (only the red part turns on). I really need help on this because i don't know how to fix this. any feedback will be appreciated.

-solved-never trust previous owners "antenna adapter" noticed when a small cloud of smoke poured out from under the head unit when i popped the tail light fuse back in... but problem solved as far as lights not working.

on a side note, i have 2 hacked wires that were the antenna plug, how am i supposed to wire them up to work with the standard antenna plug(pioneer head unit)
