My bad, just read the sticky about creating posts in this forum, ya wouldn't know that I was a newb or something!!

On my 90 hatch 240sx my pedal sticks to the floor once every few days or even longer. Also sometime while driving it doesn't pop up the entire way.The fluid is good and she is not leaking whatsoever. I got underneath while the wife pumped the pedal and the slave seemed to work fine. So I'm leaning towards the master cylinder.

What is bench bleeding? I read to do that on a new master cylinder before installing.

Can I safely install the master out in fron of my house on the side of the street? How long does it take to do? (I'm fairly handy with a wrench)

I'm trying to find a step by step but no luck yet,m I do know however to bypass the dampener while I'm at it.

Have you bled the system at all yet? Checked for any binding/bad return springs on the pedal? Pedal height?

Changing the MC is pretty straight forward. Be sure to use a line wrench (flare nut) on the metal tubing fitting. Bench bleeding is just putting fluid in the reservoir and pumping the input shaft to remove air from the master cylinder.

Be careful re-bending the tubing if you do remove the damper as you don't want to kink it.

The whole thing can certainly be done on the street.

I haven't bled the system yet, which is what I'll do first and foremost.

How do I check for spring bindings? where are they located? Up under the dash where the pedal attaches?

Yes, check up under the dash where the the pedal pivots. I know some folks who have added another spring (like an accelerator spring) because of a similar problem.
