Did the Canadian model 240SX come with a limited slip differential? And if so how would I know if it still works? (The car sat for two years) Any help would be greatly appreciated

not sure but i think all Canadian model have it but to be sure. Jack up the car by the rear diff until both wheels are off the ground. Then rotate the 1 wheel forward and the other should rotate in the same direction. Hope this helps 420Sxpres

I believe the 1989-90 had NO option for the VLSD or Hicas. It was only after 91+ where canadian 240sx (or any 240sx in that manner) came with either the VLSD or Hicas options.

http://www.socal240sx.org/faq/1990.html (89-90 models)http://www.socal240sx.org/faq/1991.html (91-93 models)

you can see that there is an extra option from the 91-93 model for the VLSD or Super HICAS. Nissan had only started to offer the VLSD/Hicas as an option for the 91-93 models. The Canadian 240sx from 91-93, however, did come with the vlsd as a safety suspension feature. so if you are looking at a 91-93 model it SHOULD have a vlsd/hicas.

and like 420xpres said, jack up the rear and spin the wheels, if it has an lsd, it should spin both ways.
