1990 240sx ka24e wont start

how important are the wires that hook up to the transmission, not the reverse lights or speed sensor? does my car need those to start?

also, my fuel pump is only pumping fuel through the line without the filter. are both supposed to squirt fuel? (i tried a new fuel pump)

there is also one more wire that was hooked up on my old engine that the new one doesn't have (near the started, just above it) , i switched the engine from auto to manual transmission.
