I've got a nissan 240 and i got coolant smoke coming out of the side of the block by the exhaust manifold so I am pretty sure its a head gasket problem, I talked to my friend who works at a Nissan dealership and said the job pays for 18 hours of work and takes a whole day. Is there a quicker way of doing the job and does anybody know how?

you can do it quicker if you know what your doing, 18 hours seems like a long time for a HG. as for a quicker way, there is only one way. take the head off, replace the gasket, and put it all back together.

First thing's first: make sure the headgasket is blown. 18 hours is bull****, by the way, but expect about $400-$700 if you have someone do it for you.

Yea I already checked the price of having Nissan do the head gasket with the gasket already paid for all I would have to pay is labor and they said 732.00 which is something I don't want to pay but I already got a check list at my automotive school from a fellow Nissan tech but thanx any way guys
