I didn't when I changed my factory O2 sensor out, should I have?

If you say yes I want to know why. And no cop out answers like "you should when you work on the motor"

Would it really make a difference? Remember, this is OBD1 ...

not a big deal.

BUT... (here comes the cop out)

you are suppose to when you work on the electrical system to help prevent surges that could fry modules, sensors, or fuses.
