ok this is kind of a dumb question but is there a correct way to install a cat? I bought a carsound high flow and on one side the flange is adjustable with 3'' and the other side is a solid 2.5'' flange. i have a 2.5 headers and catback exhaust. So does it matter wich way it should go? Should i stick to 2.5in gaskets or get 3in gasket for the adjustable flange? Thanks.

Should be 2.5" on both ends, if you have a 2.5" header flange and a 2.5" catback flange...

thats the prob. one side of the cat is 3in. Seems that side should be the outlet for 3in catback exhaust. But if i replace that flange with a 2.5 the cat can be installed either side? Is there a specific inlet and outlet to a cat?

Unless there's an arrow on the cat marked "flow", then it's universal fit.

Might want to see if you can swap it out for one with two 2.5" flanges.
