This is the wire going to the ECU, do I have to run a new wire all the way to ECU? can I just replace the burned part of the wire? just a regular wire will do?Thanks in advance for your help!

The O2 sensor wire is shielded. You should use shielded wire. If you want, you can redo the whole thing, you can just solder a new section in, use a solder high in silver and very low if any of tin.

you think solder will hold at that temp if it burned through the wire?

you cant use lead solder to solder pipes for carying drinking water. tin and antimony 95%/5% respectivly is what i usually use, but for electrical work i use 60/40

locally I can find solder for my electronics that made of silver. I've used it on my o2 sensor's before the ones that are cut and crimp without any problems or degredation in signal quality. I've yet to have an o2 sensor wire burn on me though. Do you still have your heat shields on by any chance?
