1990 240SX ATCU location/access

I'm trying to diagnose several problems with the automatic transmission on a 1990 240SX. Following the procedure in the FSM, I ran the automated diagnostic and got 6 out of the 10 possible error codes. Further testing requires access to the ATCU, but the FSM only provides a very rough diagram showing that it's located somewhere under the dashboard on the passenger's side. I've removed the glove box, but I'm not sure what to look for.

The ATCU is located near the ECU behind the passenger side kick panel; should be just above it.
