1990 240sx AC problem

I have a AC problem with my 1990 240sx hatch. The AC button does not light and I asked a Nissan guy and he told me to check if the AC compressor clutch kicks in or not. Just wondering if it does kick in, what other possible problems would the AC system has?Thank you

Is there freon in the system. Seams A/C questions are a popular subject in here on the s-13 lately.

mine doesnt light either.. but i have to recharge/re vent my ACactually.. my whole dash on the ac doesnt come on.. doesnt bother me much though :/need to rip my dash out and redo the venting on the AC.. ughh pita!
