1990 240 wont go in reverse

anyone know anything about this im not to sure the other gears work fine i think and cant even get it to go in the slot at all pls help with any ideas someone

I had the same problem with my 90 as well. The only thing that got it to work was to run through a few gears and then get it in reverse. Just keep the clutch in and throw it in first, second, third, then go to reverse. I doubt thats gonna help, it just sounds like a bum transmission, synchro, or something like that.

yea it sounds like the syncros in your trany are bad for the reverse. It sounds like you need either a rebuild or a new trany.

Yea, you can pick up a new transmission for seriously like 100 bucks

I used to have a turbo 280z that did that and I was told it was the slave cylinder which aren't expensive at all but you have to buy a master too or it will go out soon after
