1990 240 SX Shoulder Harness NG

I just bought a 1990 240SX, everything is great except the passenger side automatic shoulder harness does not function. Possible clues: seatbelt light stays lit even when driver is buckled in and there is no-one in passenger seat, also cigarette lighter module does not work (when I pried it out of console, I could see some sloppy electrical tape work on wires.

First check your fuses.

Second, the seatbelt motor itself could be blown.

Third, disregard all my photochopping with the wires and circles. But the black box located behind the place I circled "Switch location" is the seat belt control module on the auto seatbelt models.



Check that to make sure someone didn't do any shoddy wiring job there and crossed something.

All Nissan automatic seatbelts are covered under a LIFETIME warranty, so just bring it to your local dealer and let them fix it.
