1990 240 sr20 tach problem?

i have a 1990 240sx... i just recently bought the car... it has the sr20 swap done... but the only that was wrong was the instrament cluster didnt work... so i did some research and i bought a used 1 from ebay that was said to work with the sr20... i got the cluster all hooked up and now everythin works cept the tach... wat do i do... is there a wire thats just chillin in the harness and not hooked up to anything.. i dont really care if the tach in the cluster works ... but if i want to put 1 in outside the cluster... what steps should i take or wat should i be looking for?

Was your car originally a Single cam engine ? If you have a JDM SR cluster, the tach / speedo signals should be there considering it is a twin cam engine, maybe some of the sensors are not getting the correctsignal references back to the cluster ?

i got a double overhead tach... from a Ka-t engine... and everything in the cluster works cept the tach

Check the yellow wire with red stripe in the ECU to dash wiring. Ensure it is hooked up there and behind the cluster.
