OK I always like the IMPUL kit for the 1990-1993 Q45 ever since I saw it, But I have found the bumper for and affordable price and I need opinions of what you guys think.

Now for your information I am NOT trying to VIP my car, just want to have the best things from the Nissan President, JDM Q45 and the early and late model USDM Q45's.

So this one is just with full kit:

Or this one with eyelids:

Credit goes to unknown007 for Photoshoped pics.

Definitely not a fan of the photoshopped grille opening. At all.

Never been particularly fond of eyelids, either...regardless of the car. They look like what they are: tacked on plastic. If you were to do what I've seen some of the Golf guys do and extend the hood down over the same area, it would look okay. But stick-on eyelids are not my style.

The real impul kit looks fantastic, though.

So yes on the first picture then?

The more I look at the first picture (Without the eyelids and staggered rims (Yes I finally noticed them) I actually like it.

But how do the VW guys pull it off do you have a pic?

Definitely yes on the first pic. I like those wheels but with the shallower dish.

It took a little searching to find one that was fully blended, but here's what I mean:

This one shows without the blending:

It's part of the hood, not attached to the headlight lens. Painted and blended right it's very clean.

And just for reference, a stock Golf:

I like the first kit much much more. Did they make these for the 94-96 models?

Its called a Boser hood. I like how they look on Vdubs. They might look good on other cars too.

The two pics have the same kit, But the kit is 100% compatible with the 1994-1996 Q45's 1990-1993 Q45 need a little cutting.

the first pic is photoshopped as well. here is the official impul photoshop:

from this original image:

i almost bought this bumper not long ago but decided against it. the wheels on the other hand:

for the record, the 90-93 bumper will have the grill area cut out and there is a different bumper for the 94-96.

Thanks but I already mentioned that the first picture is photoshoped in my original post.

Are those TRUE BBS wheels you got? And how much if you don't mind?

But from this picture it shows that with a little fiber glass work (Which would be required anyways) you can make it work with the belt buckle (1990-1993 Q45's).

Now from the above picture you can cut the part that the belt buckle touches, put it together paint attach and enjoy.

there is also this bumper which shows what Blkonblk is talking about:

the first set of pics is a 94-96 bumper. the 90-93 looks like this:

but you are correct, to use a belt buckle you will be glassing either way. my only concern, and i'm not sure how legitimate it is, would be with the headlights lining up on the incorrect year.

and no they are not genuine bbs, they are genuine impul r1s. i have about $1500 into them right now with plans to spend a little more refinishing them.

Actually the 1993 Q45 bumper cover has a grove in the middle for space for the belt buckle.

but $1500 for wheels you can find entire running car cheaper, But I have to say they are nice.

That's actually the biggest issue. Fenders are completely different between the 9093 and the 9496 because of the headlight difference. So the bumpers won't interchange without swapping fenders and neither will the headlights.

Then how can you find out the year Of Q45 the black bumper was taken off?

there is no space for a belt buckle on any year impul bumper. they were made to go with the impul grill not the belt buckle.

the 90-93 (blue one i posted) has the posts on the side to frame the grill like so:

the 94-96 (black one you posted) does not because the grill is framed by the hood like so:

the first image you posted has the belt buckle photoshopped on. the impul bumper does not have that.

this is what happens when you put a before mc impul bumper on without the grill (from the owners thread, mistook for wise sports kit):

zer...2.JPG

$1500 includes the new tires i purchased and is easily the least expensive set of wheels i have ever bought.

Do you know if the IMPUL grill is functional?

I don't think it would be a clusterf**k to do but I just need to know if that bumper that is black will fit a 1990-1993 Q45, that's all that matters because if it lines up you can always work on it and stuff too it.

But $1500 for wheels with tires is'nt bad at all, but not my cup of tea.

I have 3 wheels: OEM 1991-1993 Q45t wheels for summer tires, 1990-1993 Q45 "Pie pans" for snow rims and fittipaldi mesh rims for race or show wheels. OEM wheels came with the car the fittipaldi rims I got them by trading Phase 2 rails.

i'm not 100% on the impul grill being functional, but given the maker and the open space behind the grill area i would guess so.

i would not bother with the black bumper. at the very least you would be doing a lot of work to fit it when you could just wait and get the correct part and only have to graft in the belt buckle section.

The white bumper I showed you is the correct part I take it?

If so I like it but I don't like that front spoiler/lip on the front.

I forgot to add, my car has more wheels and tires combo then I have shoes.

Trust me I have come to the good side and away from the dark. . (I no longer love the grill in real life, but in the picture its HOT.

Hence why i am trying to see if the belt buckle will fit.

Your right I don't want that look, it makes the Q45 look like a plow.

But I do want the black bumper to have a grove for the belt buckle, And to my knowldge there is no such bumper.

Do you know where I could find a bumper made by IMPUL for a 1990-1993 USDM Q45?

there is not one. your best bet would be to get a 90-93 impul bumper, cut the belt buckle section out of a usdm bumper, and mold it in.

The black one looks like a 9093 bumper. See the little nubbins where it raises up toward the front? The highest points on the bumper? The 9496 bumper doesn't have that. It's a straight line from the headlights back. Compare that bumper, the "real" impul kit, and this picture of my car.

See the difference in the bumper line? Makes it easy to tell which is which.

thats true. nice catch.

so this is a 90-93 with the grill post removed, but since you need to mold the belt buckle section anyway it will work.
