So I have a 90 180, and I know a lot of 240 people upgrade to 180sx brakes, but I always thought they upgraded to the 5 bolt 180sx ones, and mine are 4 bolts. So, are the 1990 4 bolt 180sx brakes the same as 240sx ones? I need new rotors and pads.

If their not, do you know where to pick up some 180sx brakes for a 4 bolt application?

huh?

the 180sx never came in 5 lug. It wasn't even an dealer option.

And no, 180sx brakes aren't the same as 240sx... iirc, they're more closer to Altima sized brakes (pads and rotors)

So far i have asked everyone and searched in this forum as well....and they all say older altima and maxima brake compentents work.....well im here to tell you they DO NOT fit. Maxima/altima pads are no wheres near close to fitting a CA18DET euipped 180...years 89/90. I know this first hand.-Pat

if you need ca brakes try http://www.importconcern.ca

They should still stock ca brakes. IMO you should seriously just upgrade to 300zx/R32 brakes. Best modification i have done to my Silvia and not hard at all to do yourself.

IIRC 180sx front calipers are 2 piston while USDM 240sx have 1 piston. Rears might be the same. Not sure.

The CA 180sx and SR 180sx have different brakes.

My friend has a CA 180sx and his brakes are different than my SR 180sx. To this day we still do not know what kinda pads it takes, so I believe he switched to Q45 calipers. My SR 180sx on the other hand, uses 95 Maxima pads. I swapped them for some ceramic pads last thursday, so there is your confirmation that they work!

Good luck!
