My hardcopy FSM for the '89 240SX lists 105-112 ft-lbs one one page and the four pages later lists the torque as 87-116 ft-lbs, WTF????

Anyone know what the actual value should be? Did they correct this in the '90 FSM?

Guess i could just meet somewhere in the middle, at least they overlap.

Heh im glad you scaned the pic of the FSM in there, thats pretty funny. I know from having a 96 240 that the torque is 142-152 nm. So the first page is correct, the second is a mistake.

Gotta have proof

I looked at that thing for about twenty minutes just to be sure i wasn't making a mistake and reading it wrong before i put it up here. And even then, i was still halfway expecting someone to point out my mistake.

Thanks for the info, i assume the torque would be the same for the SOHC as it would the DOHC?

When I replaced my pulley with an aluminum one I torqued that Betty down to 110 ft/lbs. I checked the torque value with the following few oil changes. No worries.
