Hey guys,I just bought a 1989 240sx coupe with a silvia front end and it needs some work. It's auto(will swap 5 speed in a few weeks, looking for 5 speed swap parts) and was idling wrong at the time. Adjusted the idle on the ecu and it is idling pretty well but there is absolutely no power when I hit the gas, I was able to get it to go to 65 on the highway but it was a strain getting it. Any ideas? All the injectors are going and I am getting spark on all 4 I am thinking of sea foaming it since it has been sitting for a while. I think the ECU could be bad making the timing off.-Alex

Seafoam or other brand equivilent would not hurt.

How old is the fuel? You say it had been sitting for a while.

I would start with a general tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor etc.

you need to describe the "strain" better - i.e. how much of the pedal are you pushing (25%, 50%, 100%), how long does it take to change gears (or is it changing gears @ all)? what rpms is it changing gears/shifting?

Instead of thinking the timing is bad, it's not a bad idea to check your base timing, as 91SilviaKs said - search on here (or look @ faq's) to see how to check timing if you don't know how.
