Post

Hi, new to the forum.
Last week I got my first Nissan, a 1989 3.0 Pathfinder, manual trans 4x4 with 120,000 miles for next to nothing.

Some quick history:
PO said it was throwing code 51, injector circuit and is in limp mode. Cuts fuel at 2800 in all gears and jerks real bad till you let off the throttle.

Work done in the last 3 years and 40,000 miles he owned it:
Timing belt
CV axles
Alternator
AC compressor.

Tonight I did the self diagnostic and it gave me 3 codes, in order:
13-Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
51-Injector Circuit
11-Crank Angle Sensor

First question I have, do these rigs have an MIL? Or is limp mode the equivalent? I can't see any kind of check engine light on the dash, not even when I first turn the key on and all the lights come on, but the ECU gives me trouble codes.

Second question, any ideas on which of these problems is causing the limp mode? I've been doing all the maintenance you do on an new-used car and about ready to dig into these problems so I can finally daily drive it.

Thanks in advance!
