I have a 1989 Nissan Sentra. Purchased new in 1989. Very reliable car in Southern California.

My daughter went to start and nothing! No click of solenoid, no buzz - nothing.
However, the battery is perfect and can easily be jump started by popping the clutch.

Can it be the solenoid?

Thanks,

Welcome to NICO!

Have you checked your ignition switch? Also, have you checked to see if you are getting power to the starter?

Check the clutch pedal and see if the rubber piece that pushes a little silver button some what under the dash is there. There will be a hole near the top of the clutch arm that will align to that silver button. If you can see the button through the hole of the clutch, then the rubber piece is missing. That was the case for me. I thought it was the starter wire but sure as heck, it was a little rubber piece that cost about a dollar.
