My car has started to blow smoke and i know it would be my rings but is thare any way to help slow the burn without taking apart the engine. 240sx 2.4L

I think there are a number of threads on this.

My brother's 240 did this and it was the valve seals.

It's the SR20det 2.0L turbo. Save your money for a redtop or blacktop sr20.It's the only way to go, imo.

not sure why changing the fuel filter would make it worse, but what color is the smoke. I could be burning oil or coolant, they would be from different areas. you can look at your dipstick and if it looks milky it is a coolant issue, most likely at the head gasket. If its oil, then most likely your valve seals, in either case it sounds like the head needs to be removed.

So i checked and it,s not the head. And the smoke is a light blue and i have bean saving for a sr20 but it will take me a bit longer not much work out hear. Thank you fore your info. It,s nice asking questons and not having to take the car into dealers for a dio.
