my 1989 240sx 2.4 sohc had a seized fan clutch. I was driving it and it was running fine when all of a sudden my fan detached from it's home went through my hood and exploded!!!! The car started bucking I pulled over and realized that the bucking only happens when I am trying to accelerate over 2500 rpm. other than that the car idles fine and there is not any abnormal engine noises. Could the exploding fan have caused the engine to jump timing? Please help I have never seen any thig like this before in my 28 years on this earth.

thank you.

Sounds Mass Air Flow related. Probably when your fan blew apart, it damaged the MAF. You can find those at junkyards for around $10-$30 usually.
