I have a 1989 Nissan pickup 2WD A/T 2.4L that won't do anything. My cousin tried to jump the battery and hooked the negative jumper cable to the positive side of the battery and positive jumper to the negative on the battery and fried something. Now my truck won't even display any lights whatsoever. the only thing that happens is the radio will turn on and that's it. I knew my starter was going bad before and I already replaced that but still won't start. Please help if anyone knows what the problem is. Thanks

Derek

You most likely burnt out the main fuse. If you are lucky you didn't fry the ECM by doing that. If he's crossing wires you should be watching him with more suspicious eyes. The ECM is fragile and a full 12 volts to it can ruin parts inside it. Hopefully the fuse caught the brunt of it.

Which fuse is it exactly?

That's what it is called, the MAIN fuse. Also check the fusible links right on the (+) battery cable. They are designed to burn up in high current situations. When you replaced the starter did all the wiring look OK? Was everything installed correctly and tightened down? No chance of a loose cable somewhere?

everything was fine with the stater installation. Where is the Main fuse located at? Also, what am I looking for on the fusible links for them to be bad?

Also, is the fusible link located on the fuse box drivers side as well as the battery?

Yes check them all. The main fuse should be near the battery.
