Ok, I have a 1989 240sx with a 1996 engine, manaul transmission.

When I push in the clutch pedal....makes a noise. The noise is like a "Phrarrr" its really loud. Only when I apply the pedel it makes the noise.

It does not slip...it goes into gear...just makes that noise (When I am on the pedel) When I let of the clutch pedal, it stops making that noise.

I was thinking maybe a throw out bearing? Or transmission? Or whatever, I really dont know.

I can't really tell what sound "phrarr" is, but it sounds like the pilot bushing.

My Vote would be Throw out bearing since that is whats happening when you push in the clutch and is commonly associated with the "Phrarr" sound. the Pilot bearing is more of a Wheeeerreereesssshhhee sound.

Drain the transmission fluid and see if chunks of anything come out. Everything looked good in there?

Did you take off the pressure plate and look the clutch disk over good? I had money on the TO bearing.

well, when i first read it it sounded like just a squeeky pedal. since "phrarrr" sounds kinda like a squeek/groan. but you didnt say if it constantly makes the sound, or if its only when the pedal is moving.

No the noise is coming from the transmission area, My freinds dad says its a bearing on the end of the input shaft. He is an engineer for Rpm. So I think thats the next thing I am going to replace. But He also said it was a TO bearing....lol

And the sound is like....gear spinning on each other, making like a PhrAAARRRRRRR sound lol As soon as the car is out of gear...it makes that noise. Its more of a loud groan than a sqeek. And it makes the sound out of gear only. In gear no sound. Plus today I noticed it only makes the sound when I rev it up. out of gear and reving. OR switching gears.

Btw the clutch is brand new, Throw out bearing Brand new, Flywheel Brand new, transmission got out of a junk yard car. Driveshaft I also got out of a junk yard. The polit bearing, was machined up from Rpm's machine shop(I trust the guys did it right). I installed everything.

well as long as the transmission is working good. let the noise be. you may want to run a thicker oil if you care about noise. BTW are you running subframe spacers/inserts. I know that one mod alone makes the drivetrain noises much more apparent. from the clunking of each gear as you engaged them, from letting off the throttle and hearing the whirring of the transmission/diff. while you are under there be sure to lube up the u-joints on the driveshaft.

ok So I took apart the transmission and I noticed that the first gear was all eat up. and the main bearing inside the transmission was out. Thats the problem. IT will run and drive like it is. But I am just going to get another one. Thx for all the help!

It was just wear and tear...I guess the transmission had to have had like 200,000++ miles!!! The first gear was...whore down like hell. It was like a sharped knife blade. Then I noticed the main bearing was out....Its trash now.
