Ok I searched and I am really surprised I didn't find anything but I read somewhere that the turbo off a 88-89 300zx turbo is different than the previous years? I think it said it was a t25 instead of a t3 or something like that, can someone confirm this? there is a 1989 300zx with low milage in the junkyard and I'm about to go down there and rip it apart to get the turbo for my 240 turbo project, but I want to check what exactly I'm getting. Thanks

yup, they raised the compression and switched to the smaller T25 turbo, if you plan to turbo the ka I'd go for a T3, I'm sure the t25 would work but it won't flow as much air so it won't make as much power, but it should spool quicker

Also, if it is an 89 turbo, buy the rearend. They sell for ~$600 on ebay all the time. The easiest way to tell if it is a LSD is to look at the rear cover. If it has cooling fins=LSD= BUY IT!!!

I was actually on vacation in merced california when i went to the junkyard while I was there to make vacation a little more exciting, so if you do want it its going to be a trip.

edit: anybody have any specs on the t25 out of a 89? just wondering if I do go with this turbo what I'm going to max out at, or I could sell it to someone with a honda.

Sell it. The turbo will most likely max out around 220-240 whp, running very hot at that.
