I was driving back from lunch yesterday and when I shifted to 4th, the pedal would not come back up all the way and I lost almost all acceleration. Now, clutch slips like crazy. It will not grab in any gear. Still shifts perfectly fine between gears, very smooth and no grinding.

Checked fluid level and it is good, no leaking. It drove perfect before this happened, so I dont know what the problem is.

well, if you're sure it's not the hydraulic problem,

how about checking the pedal freeplay?

you'll have to pull the trans off & check the throwout bearing, fork pivot ball, etc... mebbe the clutch disc got glazed over w/ some oil leaking from a rear main seal or something??? or the pressure plate has lost some holding capacity???

Thats what I was afraid of. I was just trying to avoid having to drop the transmission.

Could it also be that your clutch or pressure plate is gone? I know that my transmission acted similarly when my clutch went out.

How many miles is on your clutch (or how many do you think there are)?

Unknown. As far as I know it still has the clutch that came with the motor, which had roughly 30,000 miles on it. I am replacing the clutch and I will see how it works out.
