1989 240sx: smoking problem

my car smokes black smoke while putting at idle. it idle at 300-500 rpm. a lot of people says its the aicv but i don't know what it looks like. auto zone is out of 240sx repair manual. i need help, got to go get emission

if you mean the iacv its located on the left side of the vehicle if youre standing outside looking into it. follow intake runners down. http://www.geocities.com/Motor...a.jpg that is a picture of it

id say youre running rich so check coolant temperature sensor or maf or maybe the iacv. the fsm should help

what do i do to check the iacv, and thanks for the picture. i would i check the coolant temp sensor and maf?

if you still want the repair manual there is a chilton nissan stanza/200sx/240sx 1982-1992 at checker auto parts; I did not found it in any of 3 autozone I look.

If you've got black smoke coming out of your engine, from my experience, you probably have a bigger problem than just a valve or a sensor.
