um, sorry about not checking back sooner; i was taking the driver training / test for FedEx...
hmm, did you @ least download/ read any of the free Factory Service Manuals that i've got linked in my signature?
there's 3 checks for diag procedure 1 when u didn't get past step 2: the last part, the OD light indicator seems to be working, so that one's crossed-off...
you have to check the A/T control unit's power source and ground circuits...
some1 w/ a similar FSM? see page AT-47 or i'll scan it for you l8tr...
the control unit is on the pass side, probably up further into the kick panel... above the ECU/ECM... & has a 16-pin plug... along w/ a 20-pin plug next to it: u r going to use the 16-pin plug to check for power/ground sides...
key point: but it's so weird that you have this prob AFTER you did the water pump change... i say recheck everything around that area...

Will it hurt anything to drive it like it is now?[/quote]that's not good to be running @ 75mph 5,ooo rpms for extended times... please make sure your AT fluid is OK. & make sure the OD OFF light is not lit up/keep OD switch ON...
any ENGINE trouble codes stored on the ECU?ECM???
