I just got my koyo radiator and installed it last night. I had a little bit of trouble getting the upper and lower rad hoses to not leak. I ended up tightening the hose clamps a little harder than I felt comfortable doing, but figured this might be because it's clamping to metal instead of plastic. Is there anything special about clamping the hoses onto the Koyo Rad? Is there any other problems I may be experiencing that I'm not seeing?

you may have tightened to the point where the clamp cut into the rubber and is causing a leak that way.

I've looked at it and it doesn't appear to be cut into the hosing. After retightening it I don't think I'm having problems with the leaking that I can see. (I don't see any coolant dripping) I have, however, seen the coolant resevoir level go down a good amount (from max line to almost empty). I drove it to work (25 miles) and let it sit at a dry spot for about 30 mins then went out and checked under the car. I did not see any leak spots.

Do you think it was just "burping" and pulled that much more coolant?

mebbe, but don't be guessing about it... have it pressure tested (u can rent the tester from autozone fo free).

pump it up to ~15 psi on a cold engine... then see if the readings drop/ look around clamps/hoses/ fittings/etc...

(& i've asssumed that you already burped the system after the installation)
