1989 240sx HUD and lights display PROBLEM!<please help>

i just got my 1989 240sx and it has a little problem. the dashboard lights and the speedometer. (HUD) wont display or light up. it only works when it is warmed up for a while.

-if u guys have any input it would be most helpful and appriciated. thanks-

this happens to everyone, its like 14 years old, it takes time to warm up, u can endure it or buy a new unit.
