Hi All.

Firstly...Noob here admission, no real experience with car ownership, but eager to learn and get my hands dirty.

Just got my red s13 from friend who did not want it anymore.

The car runs fine, but has a few abvious problems.Havin my mechanic replace faulty alternator, shot struts and brake disks.

AC does not work and someone side swiped the driver side do panels will have to be replaced sometime.

Engine has 160k miles on it.

I would mainly use this car on road and then maybe if I can take it out on a track and open her up a bit.

Plans in this order:

Fix AC (live in NYC - cannot live without one is summer)New Stereo system (cannot live without music personally)

Brakes upgrade (300zx brake upgrade)Suspenion upgrade (recommendations appreciated)

Engine parts upgrade (air filter, exhaust, sparks and wires)Engine swap due to high mileage on existing (RB20DET or RB25DET - $$$ dependant)

Interior upgrade (Hate the carpet look - any recommendations?)

New body kit (Jaqcuemond would be awesome if I can afford it)New wheels & Rims

Does this make sence? Any comments are appreciated.

thanks a lot ;) ;) ;)

i wouldnt do the 300zx brake swap to begin with, it is normally concidered overkill unless you are into hardcore track racing and autocross. If you plan on swapping in the future, dont bother blowing money on the current motor. Low priced body kits look awful in person, so make sure you get a quality one if you choose to spend the money, all the bodywork+ paint will end up costing $3000+ for a good job. I never had any beef with the stock interior but there leather seats you can put in from a s13 LE, s14 SE with leather option, or Z32 300ZX leather seats that look pretty good.

My one peice of advice is to research parts and find reveiws for them on this forum before you buy them, there is a wealth of knowlege burried in the pages of NICO.

Welcome and stick around, i cant wait to see how your project turns out! :)

i wouldnt plan on a rb25 swap unless you have some serious cash, from the way it sounds your probly in school, and you would have to pay someone to do the work, and if so you probly wont have the funds for something like that unless you have a hellof a part time job, or rich parents;) but if thats not the case then you should look into a sr20 or ca18 swap, and thats still gonna be a good $3-4000 assuming your keepin it stock. if you do have the money for a rb25 swap that'd be awesome, make sure you get some pics, your in the right place for any questions you have about your 240 imo

Thanks for the reply guys, I will take your advise into consideration and probably opt for the rB20det swap... Sorry no rich parents... paying my way and school ended 15years ago... you are just detecting my youthful enthusiasm.

With respect to body kits, can anyone identify the body kit used by clearcorners in this car:

Actually I like the dual-lamp headlights more than the body kit, anyone know where those are available? Or even better, is it fairly straight forward to hook-up yourself with the right lights?

And I realize they're on the sight, but 1000 seems a little out of whack to me.
