Hey,

I took off the fuel pump access cover and the lines were so badly corroded that the green (of the four it was the one closest to the front of the car) wire snapped...

what is this wire for? and how can I go about fixing it? Solder?

thanks

(couldnt find any info. in a search and my stoopid hayes manual has nothing)

From the factory manual and schematic drawing, those four wires are for Fuel Pump (2) and Fuel Gauge/Level (2). It does not show the color coding of each cable but:

Take a look at the connector at the end of the wire harness (pump side) and bottom left and bottom center are for Fuel Gauge Level Sender (resistance). The other two are (+) and (G) for euel pump.

I hope this helps.

helps quite a bit actually... it was the top one of the 4 caps.. from bottom to top it goes

GROUNDWIREWIREWIREWIRE

with a cap on each wire that connects to the fuel pump asssembly..

well i just soldered the wire back on and now i get better gas mileage... so whatever that wire did... it didnt make my car not work.. but i got like 5MPG lol
