I have a 1989 240SX.

It was misfiring due to a bumb spark plug wire.

I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and spark plugs.

When I was done the car started right up just fine and I drove the car around the blook.

When I parked the car it suddenly shut off and then it wouldn't start. It would turn over and maybe run for a second or so then shut off again.

I thought it was the rotor so I tried installing a different type..I'm not sure if it was the hitatchi or the mitsubishi...either way I'm having the same problem.

I thought I possibly had the wires on the cap out of order but I can't find a diagram anywhere that shows the distributor cap wire diagram for the SOHC 89 240SX.

If anyone has any ideas or diagrams that could help me out I would appreciate it

The firing order is very simple, the cylinders are 1 2 3 4 (or um 4 3 2 1, i can't remember exactly) front of the engine bay to the back. The Cap should be numbered, so just match them up. Turn the key to the second click to start the fuel pump and feel your fuel line see if the line is very stiff, if you can squeeze the line pretty easy then your pump may be bad.
