My gauge cluster on my 89 fastback doesn't light up at night when I turn on my headlights. But my turn signals will blink on the cluster when I use the turn signal.also speedo /rpm works.It started by flickering on/off fewtimes one night and than just died . All fuses are fine inside thew car, dunno about under the hood.I noticed few days ago my rear lights don't come on neither ,dunno when that happend or if its related to cluster.
while checking fuses i noticed few were the wrong size 20amp instead of 10 etc, so i replaced them with proper once still no go ... who ever owned this car before using wrong fuses
1989 240sx : Cluster and tail lights out.
Open the hood and replace the blown fuse for "tail" lights. If it isnt blown you have an open wire some where in the circuit.

I'm not sure about S13s but my tail light was in the interior fuse box. It fixed my problem!
NO ACCTUALLY everything works, but the rear lights and dash lights. i took my cluster out there is a purple wire hanging? where does that go? all fuses are good there is no rear light fuse under the hood.
at night i hear rickeling, checked i can see a small spark escaping from my spark wire in #2 right near where it plugs into spark#2
