In my recent learning about Crank Angle Sensors and Custom Crank sensors I've come across Cam sensors. I probably read something wrong along the way, but I saw something about a Cam sensor on the ka24e. The CAS on the ka24e is connected to the crank right? (little arm from the dizzy locks onto the front of the crank along with the oil pump) So is there such a thing as a Cam sensor on the kae?

Curious because I'm looking at the msefi and trying to figure out if it's even possible to get rid of any small amount of chain slack. (Other than obviously making sure the tensioners are good and tight)

Thanks in advance!

technically there is no cam speed sensor on the ka24e or de for that matter.it derives engine speed by knowing that the cam rotates at half the speed of the crank regardless of where it's measured at.the dizzy has a tdc signal #1, tdc signal for every 180 degrees of crank rotation or 90 degree of cam rotation, and 360 degree signal and converts that into engine speed. it's all measured by the hall effects system that nissans work off of.in short, the only way to change those events to compensate for chain tension is to1. know how much that the slack is affecting the timing events.2. have the ability to compensating for the known discrepancy.
