The turn signals stop working on my car all of a sudden, all fuses are good , the hazard lights work. When I click left or right turn signals there is no turn lights inside (dash blinkers) or outside (actual lights). Also no clicking sound, as in the relay turning on and off.....I have an FSM and multimeter and as soon as I get home I will start troubleshooting...yeah kind of answer my own question, but I was wondering if anybody knows any quick checks I can run before I get home.....

thanks

shoot, had to be an 89 huh? i dont have a fsm for an 89. so here goes the basics. it cant be the flasher cause the hazards work. that also rules out the bulbs and stuff. just a small part of the circuit that it could be. i suggest starting with the switch. unfortunately i dont have a diagram for an 89.

this is for a 93. it may be accurate for your car as well. just check for continuity between the terminals with black lines.

Ok I check the switch, I have a question, and yes wire diagram matches the one for the 1989 model. Question, when checking the continuity on LEFT mode do I get continuity between 1,2,3 or just between 1 and 3 ???This is my first time trying read this diagrams.....I have good continuity between on RIGHT setting between 1 and 2 and on LEFT I have continuity between 1 and 3, but not on 2......

thanks for your assistance....

Never mind about the terminal question....I figured it out...the switch is good. Im loosing the voltage somewhere else, I think is in the flasher/hazard switch area.....Something is killing the turn signal voltage on both settings. And yes the hazard lights work fine, flashing and everything. By tracing the schematics I can see that the hazard takes over the circuit when on, as in all lights flash regardless of where the combo turn signal switch setting is....

ok, this may seem silly but i have seen a number of those switches test good for continuity but still have excessive voltage drop. i would like for you to simulate the switch with a jumper wire. by this i mean unplug switch and jump a wire to connect the terminals the switch would otherwise be connecting.

I did jump the connector, and nothing happened, switch was good. The porblrem was the fuse..... Believe it or not...I gave up and replace the fuse with another one and it work, but I have the fuse in my hand and checks out good with my multimeter and yes the fuse is good. but the legs seem to be corroded to where when is in the fuse block is not conducting....(Scratches is head...) First one for me....Took me a while to decipher......Thanks for your help, man......
