Anyone know what the exact specs are for the alternator tensioner bolt? It snapped on me while replacing my water pump. I'm not referring to the two bolts that hold the bracket to the block, but rather the actual tension adjustment bolt. Don't know if it makes any difference, but this would be for an SOHC K series engine.

BTW: i spent the majority of the day trying to get the studs out of the original water pump as the cheap *** NAPA replacement didn't come with any. Ended up having to use some stainless bolts and some red Loctite. That's the last time i cheap out when buying replacement parts.

Thanks,K

i would imagine that if anyone would happen to know the thread diameter/pitch that itd be hard to find a bolt that long and in grade 8... You probably have ot end having it custom made, plus a new tensioner isnt very expensive (especially if you dont get hte bracket)

check out http://www.everythingnissan.com and price one out. If you cant find it on there ill get you a part number.

Grade 8? The bolt that snapped has a large "4" on the head. I thought grade 8 had an 8 or (8.8) on the head.

(later edit) from what i can tell, it's an M8x1.25, 48mm in length. Boltdepot.com has 'em.
