1989 240 SX died on the way home

1989 240sx m/tcoming home yesterday the car turned off.Luckey I was able to coast home!checked the computer for codes 55.Did a spark check no spark.Car is stockrotor turns when cranked but tach does not move.where do I start

turn key to on position and listen for fuel pump to come on in back hatch.

fuel pump works i don't have any spark

Not sure. I would first check the fuses. fuses in driver kick panel and in relay box next to battery.

check to see if you are getting spark from the coil to the distributor.

no spark from the coil,I have power to the coil. The power transistior checksout ok.The coil is not open on ohms test.All fuses good.Any help greatlyappriciated

There is also the resistor/condenser module to be checked.

blue=ground; red=12v+. I've forgotten my electronics:(

Belive it on not it was a bad ignition coil passed ohms test.Replaced it with a new one BANG it fired right up. Hope this might help someone.
