While the transmission is out of my car, i decided to fix my blower motor that stopped working last week. It has turned out to be more of a pain than the transmission change. i don't have any manuals or any diagrams so I've been "shooting from the hip" and running out ot things to check. Here is what I have found ( multi-meter adn test light were used)

there IS power at both blower fusesThere IS power at the SWITCH posts of the relay, but NOT at the coil partThe fan speed switch IS goodthe fan speed switch IS NOT getting power, but it does have groundThe resistor pack behind the glove box IS GoodNo power is getting to the resistor pack OR the fan itselfFan ohmed out OK

So all i can think of is that the fan speed switch needs power to switch the relay on, BUT i don't know what wire is the power one or where it get's power from?

Am I thinking right? or does anybody else know what is going on?Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Steve

the switch is on the ground side of the motor. power goes through fuses to motor to resistor and switch. sounds like a wiring issue between motor and fuse.

I'll have to check it out when i get abit more time.

New developments and new question(s)

I went back over everything and found that i am NOT getting power at the 2 fuses for the blower motor. I jumped power to the fan and it worked on all 4 settings like it's supposed to. SO......where do the fuses get power from? what are the wire colors? It's an ingnition "on" source i'm sure but i don't know where it's switched at.

Chris:

Please give Spool aka Steve extra attention. He is the buyer of my S13 and stuff started not working the day of the sale.Probably messed up by the shop is all was fine before I brought it in, except for 2 things ( a ground and the elect fan only working if headlights are on) , I had wanted both fixed before the sale.

ok, no prob bro.

no power at fuses? on both sides(dumb question i know)? only thing between the fuses and batt is some wires and prob a fusible link. the fusible links are the big fuse looking things or sometimes one wire plug ins. if its ign voltage there may be a relay involved. i will attempt to locate a diagram.

it hard to see i know. its also from a 91 dohc car. sorry, dont have the sohc cars on disk. in fact i dont have anything but 240's on disk and they are all dohc. so anyway, i checked power supply and it goes batt, fusible link, accessory relay 2, fuses. just like that.see?
